I will review your jumps and other materials to develop effective recommendations based on your individual profile.
Simplicity is the key to successful implementation: less complication in what you already do.
Available to members and non-members alike. No subscription required.
How it works
You start the form
About five minutes. Your vaulting background, current grip and pole, what you feel is working, and where you want more.
You send three jumps
Filming instructions below. If you don't have footage yet, that's normal — most athletes film at their next session and come back.
You pay
$125. The review begins once payment is received.
I check the footage within 2 business days
And tell you if anything needs to be reshot. If I have questions about you or your setup, I'll email them — the 7 days resume when you reply.
You receive the written review within 7 days
Your vault reviewed through the m640 model, with a clear picture of the event as a continuous chain — and where more speed, more energy, and less complication will move your performance. Includes annotated stills or clips from your footage on the key elements, with recommended focus points and training recommendations.
We meet for a 45-minute live video session
You book a time once you've read the review. Send questions ahead and we'll cover them either through email or during our session. The session is recorded, and you receive the recording for your personal use.
You have a week after our session for anything left over
Email your questions and I'll answer.
A closing note
With the one or two things to work on first.
Filming your three jumps
Video setup
- Set your phone to standard Video mode, landscape, 1080p at 60 fps. 30 fps is fine if that is what your phone offers. Do not use slow motion.
- Stand at the side of the runway, preferably across from the takeoff area, level with it or slightly above in the stands.
- Stand far enough back that the athlete, the runway surface, and the whole pole are visible during the run-up, and that the takeoff and the whole bar are in frame at and after takeoff.
Filming
- Start recording just before you raise the pole to run. If you walk in or run in, start before your first movement.
- Stop one or two seconds after you land.
- One jump per clip — three separate files, not one long recording of the session.
- Film three recent jumps over a hard bar, including at least one at or near your best height. Jumps over a bungee are less accurate for the review.
Sending
- If you need to trim a longer recording, use your phone's built-in Photos app. Do not export through a video editing app — it re-encodes the footage and can change the frame rate.
- Already have footage in slow motion? Send it exactly as it is. Do not try to convert it or speed it up.
- Do not send a clip that changes speed partway through — some phones slow only the end of the vault, and that footage cannot be used.
- Upload the three clips in the same order you list the jumps on the form. No need to rename them.
Good to know
- Who it's for
- One athlete. The three jumps do not have to come from the same session — differences between sessions are useful. Coaches are welcome to purchase on behalf of an athlete.
- Booking your session
- Within 60 days of receiving your written review. International time zones accommodated.
- If footage won't work
- I'll tell you within 2 business days and you reshoot at no cost. If usable footage can't be produced and the review hasn't begun, the payment is refunded in full.
- Your footage
- Used only for your review and session. Nothing is published or shown to anyone else unless you give separate permission on the form.
- The recording
- Your session is recorded, and the recording is sent to you for your own use. It may not be shared or posted.
- Everything comes from roman@m640.com — worth adding to your contacts so nothing lands in spam.
